Terms & conditions

1. General provisions

The SWISS LAB online shop sells chemical reagents and reference materials intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory research. Placing an order means accepting these terms and declaring that the products will be used in line with that research purpose.

The seller and operator of the shop is SWISS MEDLAB LTD, registered office at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom, registered at Companies House (England and Wales) under company number 17295411 (the “Seller”). You can reach the Seller by e-mail at bok@swiss-medlab.shop or through the contact form on the shop's home page.

SWISS LAB is the Seller's own brand — a trading name under which SWISS MEDLAB LTD sells and labels its products. It is not a separate legal entity. SWISS MEDLAB LTD is the party to every contract of sale concluded through the shop, the issuer of accounting documents and the recipient of complaints.

2. What the products are for

All products are chemical reagents (RUO — research use only). They are not medicines, dietary supplements or foodstuffs. They are not intended for consumption, for administration to humans or animals, for diagnostics or for any therapeutic purpose. The buyer is fully responsible for using the products lawfully and for their stated purpose.

2a. Buyer's research-use declaration

Creating an account and placing an order both require the following declaration. The buyer makes it when registering an account and confirms it with every order:

  • I am at least 18 years old and have full legal capacity.
  • I acknowledge that the products offered are chemical reagents (RUO — research use only) intended solely for in-vitro laboratory research.
  • The products are not medicines, medical devices, dietary supplements, foodstuffs or cosmetics, and they have not been authorised for any of those uses.
  • I will not consume the products or administer them to humans or animals — in any form and by any route.
  • I will not use the products to diagnose, treat, prevent or relieve the symptoms of any disease.
  • I will not use the products as a cosmetic or apply them to the body.
  • I will not use the products in sport or supply them to people who take part in sport — they may be prohibited substances under anti-doping rules.
  • I will store and handle the reagents as described, and I will not resell or repackage them.
  • I acknowledge that the human safety profile of these substances has not been established, and that I alone am responsible for using the products lawfully and for their stated purpose.

Making a false declaration is a breach of these terms. The Seller accepts no liability for the consequences of using the products other than for their research purpose.

3. Orders

Orders are placed through the website. Fulfilment requires accurate details and acceptance of the research-use declaration.

4. Prices and payment

Prices in this version of the shop are shown in pounds sterling (GBP); the Polish version shows them in Polish zloty (PLN). The price shown next to the product is the final amount payable. Available payment methods are described on the Shipping & payment page.

5. Delivery

Delivery terms and costs are set out on the Shipping & payment page. Orders are dispatched from Poland.

We deliver within Poland, to the other member states of the European Union and to selected countries outside the Union. The current list of countries, the available methods and the delivery cost are shown to the Customer before the order is placed, once the destination country is selected in the basket. The free-delivery threshold applies to deliveries within Poland only.

Delivery outside the European Union. The parcel leaves the customs territory of the Union and is subject to customs clearance in the country of destination. Import VAT, any customs duty and the carrier’s clearance fee are borne by the Customer as the recipient; those charges are not included in the price of the goods or in the delivery cost shown in the basket, and their amount is set by the customs authority of the destination country. The Seller attaches a customs declaration describing the contents and their value.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring that the order complies with the law of the country of delivery. If the law of that country prohibits importing the goods ordered, the Seller will refuse to fulfil the order and refund any payment received.

6. Right to withdraw

Consumers may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving a reason. Because of the nature of the products, returns are accepted only for unopened goods in their original packaging. A notice of withdrawal sent to bok@swiss-medlab.shop is sufficient.

7. Complaints

Complaints and notices of withdrawal are handled in accordance with applicable law. Please send them to bok@swiss-medlab.shop or use the contact form. We respond within 14 days.

8. Personal data

How we process personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. The data controller is the Seller, SWISS MEDLAB LTD, 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.

9. Governing law and final provisions

Contracts concluded through the shop are governed by the law of England and Wales, the law of the Seller's seat. That choice does not deprive a consumer of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which they habitually reside.

These terms may be updated — the version published on the site at the time an order is placed applies.
